Society for Library Professionals (SLP) invites applications for the following Awards to attend Sixth International Library and Information Professionals Summit (I-LIPS) to be held during 6-8 April 2017 at IISER Mohali, Punjab, India

SLP-Asian - Professional- Award sponsored by Mohan Law House

It will be presented to a library and information professional working in Asia. The purpose of the award is to provide an opportunity for an Asian librarian to attend the annual International Library and Information Professionals Summit (I-LIPS) in India.

The award will cover conference registration, lodging and airfare/ travel up to and not exceeding INR 15000/- to participate in the I-LIPS annual conference.

Eligibilty:

  • Currently working in a Library or Information Centre, Library School and related workplaces in Asia.
  • Minimum 20 years of experience in the field of Library and Information Science.
  • Maximum Age Limit: 60 Years

SLP Asian Professional Award sponsored by Mohan Law House for the year 2017 awarded to Dr. Usha Munjoo Munshi, Librarian, IIPA, New Delhi for her highly esteemed contributions over the years in the field of Library and Information Society.

SLP- Information Professional Award sponsored by Taru Publications

It will be presented to a library and information professional working in India.
The purpose of the award is to provide an opportunity for an Asian librarian to attend the annual International Library and Information Professionals Summit (I-LIPS) in India.
The award will cover conference registration, lodging and travel up to and not exceeding INR 7500/- to participate in the I-LIPS annual conference.

Eligibilty:

  • Currently working in a library or information centre, library school and related workplaces in India.
  • Minimum 10 years of experience in the field of Library and Information Science.
  • Maximum Age Limit: 50 Years

SLP Information Professional Award sponsored by Taru Publications for the year 2017 awarded to Dr. Rajeev Vij, Scientist-F DESIDOC, New Delhi, in recognition of his continuous excellence in the field of Library and Information Society.

SLP- P. K. Jain Young Professional Award

It will be presented to a student or library and information professional working in India.
The purpose of the award is to provide an opportunity to a student/ young librarian to attend the annual International Library and Information Professionals Summit (I-LIPS) in India.
The award will cover conference registration, lodging and travel up to and not exceeding INR 4000/- to participate in the I-LIPS annual conference.

Eligibilty:

  • Student of LIS professionals OR currently working in India in a Library or Information Centre, Library School and related workplaces
  • Student or Maximum 5 years of experience in the field of Library and Information Science.
  • Maximum Age Limit: 35 Years

SLP P.k.Jain Young Professional Award 2017 sponsored by Dr P K Jain for the year 2017 awarded to Mr Amit Kumar, Assistant Professor, Mizoram University, in recognition of his ability and potential to the future vitality in the field of Library and Information Society.

NOMINATIONS

Send an online statement including information on your academic and professional career, professional activities or offices held, special projects or services, publications, and any other related roles that demonstrate a commitment to the LIS profession. Documentation must include the latest curriculum vitae or resume of the candidate, as well as supporting letter. (Not more than six pages).

APPLICATION PROCEDURES

  • All applications for the award must be received not later than 31 March 2017.
  • Application must be submitted to the Chair of SLP Asian Chapter Awards Committee at [email protected]

NOTIFICATION

  • Applicants will receive notification of award status by 3 April 2017.
  • Award recipients will be responsible for making all necessary travel arrangements for conference attendance.
  • The award cheque and certificate will be presented to the recipient during the I-LIPS Annual Conference.
